About God’s Porch

Hello my name is Yannick Lyn Fatt and God's Porch is my home on the web. I currently reside in Kingston, Jamaica and I am a Web Developer at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus.

God’s Porch is just a way for me to share a little bit of my experiences in the Christian walk. I also hope that through God’s Porch I will be able to encourage others in the faith and even reach those who have not heard about Jesus. This of course is not for my glory but for God's glory.

Most of the talk here will be about God, however every now and then I'll speak a little about Web Design and other random things.

Why the name God's Porch?

When I started my first blog on blogger.com, I thought of a couple names like, “The Journey” and “Turning Point” among others, however they either sounded weird or were already taken. I then shared a poem called “God’s Porch” by Flavia with a friend and low and behold it was decided that this was the name I would call my blog. I’d like to think of God’s Porch as a calm and peaceful place and I hope you feel the same way too.

Behind the scenes

God's Porch is built using XHTML 1.0 Strict, CSS, PHP and MySQL. It is powered by Textpattern, a free, flexible, elegant and easy-to-use content management system. Hosting is provided by Dreamhost, top-notch hosting at a good price. And how could I forget that it is super charged by God, through whom all things are possible.

I would like to thank my family and friends for being encouraging and so very loving throughout my life and for helping me thus far through my Christian walk. Nathan Smith, for his patience and help in getting God’s Porch up and running and sharing his knowledge in web design. To the other Web Professionals out there (too many to name), thanks also for sharing your knowledge. Most importantly thanks be to God for all of the above, for life, for his guidance, his help, his presence, mercy and love and for the desire to serve Him.
