A Few Verses on Healing

Published: 12 April 2007 | 5 comments

It’s been a rather challenging past two weeks for our family, the details of which I will probably explain in a separate post but after mentioning a little of what’s been happening to a friend, she suggested I share some verses on healing with my mother and father. I have already done so, but thought I’d also share a few verses on healing with you all. The following are some of those verses:

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”- 1 Peter 2:24

“I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.” – Psalm 119:93

While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[a] When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him. – Luke 5:12-13

Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. – Psalm 6:2

Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. – James 5:13-16

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” – Luke 8:42-48

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. – Malachi 4:2

The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all and may he strengthen you and keep you healthy each and every day.

Yan,
You are all in my prayers. The Lord will continue to hold you up.
———————————————-
God is your refuge and strength
A very present help in trouble
Therefore, do not fear
though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult

The Lord of hosts is with you,
the God of Jacob is your refuge.

Blessings and Peace!
