Come have a seat on God's Porch

It has been a long time coming but I have finally decided to launch the new design for God’s Porch.

It took me a while to come up with a design that I liked but as someone told me the “content” is what is going to be most important about the website. So I decided it had to be a clean and simple looking design and I think I have accomplished that with what you currently see. At first the website was using Wordpress, however things took a drastic turn during development and now the website is powered by Textpattern. I must admit I jumped on the Textpattern bandwagon when version 4.0 was released (Sad I know).

Along the way the wagon hit a few bumps in the road and fell in a few holes as well. At times I wondered if I made the right decision but then came someone who helped to smooth out those bumps and patch up those holes. He has heard me tell him thanks many times but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to say it again. Mr. Sonspring himself, Nathan Smith played a big part in making God’s Porch come to life with Textpattern. He answered many a question and gave helpful tips and tricks to using this wonderful CMS. Thanks again Nathan (hint: This is where you all clap and go visit his website by clicking his name).

Of course I can’t end this post without saying that God played the biggest role in all of this. He gave the dream, helped it come to life and sent people to encourage me thus far. This may sound like a speech you might here from someone receiving an award but in all seriousness none of this would/could happen without him. I know that the journey won’t always be a smooth one but I pray for perseverance and discipline through it all. As it says in the scriptures:

Hebrews 12:11

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

I hope to post as often as I can and not just post for posting sake but post something worth reading (hehe but then again The Word of God is always worth reading) and that we can all get something from. Most of my posts should be related to The Word but there will be posts here and there related to other things.

Now please note the website is not 100% complete. There are still things I will be adding and tweaking in the coming weeks. If you do happen to see something out of place then please contact me and let me know.

May the Lord bless you and give you peace.

WOW!!!!! I have taken my seat, and I’m really happy to be here. Looks absolutely wonderful. I’m really happy and excited that you have finally got it up. Just a little bit more to go now, and hopefully the rest of the seats should be filled. Gratz Yan!!!!!
