Google buys Measure Map

Some of you might remember my post about Measure Map where I went through the various features of this blog stat tracker. I like MM, I like it a lot (with the exception that comment tracking seems to be on and off with TXP, not sure if it is something on my end or not). Today it was announced that MM was bought by Google and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t shocked. At first I thought it was a joke, but soon found out that it wasn’t.

Now I’m not really sure if I should be jumping for joy or not. I’m still shocked actually. I’m guessing Google will be using MM just for bloggers (and especially those on while Google Analytics will be used more for businesses and for web site owners who want more stats than MM currently offers. We will see.

I do have some comfort in the fact that Jeffery Veen and members from the MM development team will all still be working on MM at Google. And if he is excited about it then that gives me even more comfort that things will still be okay and even better in the coming weeks and months.

So here’s to MM going to Google. Keep up the good work guys!

Note: ebcomley has written a detailed guide to setting up MM with TXP.
