A Baby's Prayer
Just thought I’d share a short prayer that was given to my family when I was born by a friend/relative.Dear Lord, I am so newly come I do not know my name. I do not even know yet, Lord, If I am glad I came. Grant me the time to grow in love, Rejoice that I am here. Bless those who make me warm and dry. Lord, keep my mother near.By Dorothea Warren Fox

My mom was given the exact same thing when I was born (in 1978). Then I found out recently that my wife was also given one when she was born (1980). Needless to say, we have the same thing in our newborn son’s room to carry on the “tradition”.
Very cool.
Shane: That’s Cool! Didn’t realize it was so popular.
Nice, simple but touching poem Yannick. Its the first time I’ve seen it. Thanks for sharing.
Matt: You’re welcome. :)
My Mom gave one of these to a dear family friend back in 1990. When I gave birth to my firstborn in 2004, that same friend passed it on to me. It is a treasured prayer in our nursery as my Mom died 11 days after my daughter was born (in ’04). I have since given them to each of my sister-in-laws when they are having their first. The christian store where I bought them is no longer selling them. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy one? I need to get one for the last sister-in-law. Thank you so much! Heather
